When Liberty Records purchased Harry Babasin's Nocturne Records, the initial agreement put Harry Babasin in charge of developing a Liberty jazz line that would continue his "Jazz In Hollywood" concept. The alphabetical prefix for this series was LJH (Liberty Jazz Hollywood). Some of the original Nocturne releases were recycled in the new series, and some of the Nocturne masters that were never released appeared on Liberty, but not in the LJH series.
